Multilevel marketing, Twitter and a glorified Ponzi scam

Posted on by

You would think that you can’t have a gold rush without the gold. Now thanks to Twitter and Multilevel marketing, the practice of spamming all of your friends endlessly, you can.

Of the Multilevel marketers that have decided to try to spam me, all appeared to be marketing better ways to sell sales products. After all, why design and develop a marketable product when you can simply sell people the tools needed to help other Multilevel marketers sell tools to help other Multilevel marketers to sell tools… This is where the genius lies.

This also makes it appear to be a rather decentralised version of a Ponzi scam. The only money to be made is from the starting capital of the newcomers. So what happens when the market realises that there is no gold in the hills after all?
